Mona Ellen (Sherman) Hesselson, 78, passed away on July 13th. Mona was the loving partner of Elliot Hesselson for 51 years (married for 48). Mona is survived by her husband, brother, Howard Sherman, sister-in-law Nori Sherman, daughter Erica Hesselson, son-in-law Chris Hawk, and grandchildren, Ryan and Weston and step-grandson, Evan, along with many other loving family and friends.

Mona was born in Bronx, NY on August 27th, 1945, to the late William and Ruth Sherman. She was a successful administrative assistant for many different companies in her life. She and Elliot moved to Connecticut to raise a family and built a loving life together in many different states, finally settling in Doylestown, PA in 1989.

Mona was an avid reader and instilled that love of books and curiosity about the world in her daughter. She was a delightful cook and friend, aunt and nanny to many families in the area. Mona was the best gramala her grandsons could have dreamed of. Mona learned to swim after completing PT in the pool and started swimming a mile a day. Mona and Elliot enjoyed traveling together internationally and nationally and dining out locally with friends. Mona was the life of the party; a fierce and passionate woman who radiated strength and resilience. She had the most beautiful blue eyes and a genuine warmth and lovingness that all of us knew deeply. She defended and protected her own like no other.

All are invited on Sunday, September 15th, 2024, to celebrate her life at Pearl S. Buck International (520 Dublin Road Perkasie, PA 18944-3000) at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in her honor to the Doylestown Free Library via https://buckslib.org/.
