The Warrington Farmers Market, established in 2021 to benefit Warrington’s new, all-abilities playground, Lions Pride Park, is coming back with new energy and a new location for the 2024 season.
For the first time, when the market opens on Friday, May 31, it will be located in the parking lot adjacent to Lions Pride Park, located at 3129 Bradley Road. Warrington residents may also know this location as Upper Nike Park or IPW. It is across Folly Road from the previous location of the market in Lower Nike Park.
The market will be open from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Fridays, May 31-Sept. 27. The new market location is completely flat and accessible to all mobile abilities.
Warrington Farmers Market founder Mariah Drenth-Cormick is returning as market manager this year. “Mariah brings great spirit and a strong sense of community to the market,” said Warrington Lions Club President Kathy Beveridge. “Her energy is felt and valued by market vendors and visitors alike.”
Another new element of the 2024 Warrington Farmers Market is the leadership of the Warrington Lions Club. While the Lions have always been supportive of the market, it will now fall under the club’s responsibility. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from the market will be donated toward the maintenance of Lions Pride Park.
Together, the Warrington Lions Club and Warrington Township raised over $2 million to build the park, which opened in October 2020. Maintaining it is a priority for both the Township and the Lions Club.
Visitors to the Warrington Farmers Market can expect over 40 market vendors each week, including fresh local farm produce, handmade crafts and artisanal foods, food trucks, and the chance to play on the Lindy Kids Mountain or relax in the Toll Brothers Grove at Lions Pride Park, now just a hop, skip, and a jump away.
Weekly entertainment will include much loved Bucks Bubbles foam parties, local emergency “Touch A Truck” nights, and cooking demonstrations by local chefs.
“It’s a place to grab dinner for the family and listen to live music while buying your locally grown goods for the week. Visitors will be able to gather with their community in the good old block party kind of vibe. All are welcome,” Drenth-Cormick said.
The vendor lineup this year will be approximately 75% farmers and food vendors and 25% local artisans. There will be three “All Vendors” nights where anyone can sign up to be a vendor, showing off their local business or setting up as they would for a yard sale. “These nights will be huge, so make sure you grab your spot early,” Drenth-Cormick said. “All Vendors” nights are June 28, July 26, and Aug. 30.
