State must pass safe gun storage law

Posted

The bad news is an 11-year-old boy shot at a home in Levittown, which ended up leaving a hole in a bedroom wall (“Middle school student suspected of firing 380-caliber bullet into Bristol Twp. house,” May 23).

The good news is the bullet didn’t hit anybody.

The bad news is Pennsylvania does not have any laws to prevent a child finding a gun in their home when a parent leaves it where the child can get to it.

The good news is Pennsylvania could have such a law, which would take care of this irresponsible gun ownership.

We must urge our Pennsylvania state representatives and Pennsylvania state senators to pass a safe gun storage policy.
