Walter D. Rausch

Walter D. Rausch, of West Rockhill Township and formerly of Easton and Doylestown, Pa., passed away Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022, at his home. He was 77.

Born in Sellersville and raised in Perkasie, Pa., he was the son of the late Walter D. and Ruth (Riebel) Rausch Kulp and stepson of the late Clayton Kulp.

A 1963 graduate of Pennridge High School, Perkasie, he attained his Bachelor of Arts degree in German from Bloomsburg University, Bloomsburg, Pa., in 1967. He went on to earn his master’s degree in education from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pa.

Mr. Rausch was employed his entire career as an educator for the Centennial School District as a German teacher at the William Tennent High School, Warminster, Pa., from 1967 until retiring in 1999.

A travel enthusiast, he was especially content when driving behind the wheel of his car. His other interests included interior decorating and tending to his flower garden. He loved his cats and music, playing the French horn in his early years.

He is survived by a son, Douglas S. Rausch and his girlfriend Ikumi Hiraiwa, of Yardley, Pa.; his extended family, Peter Ziegenfuss, of Sellersville, Pa., Mary Beth Baringer and her husband Richard, of Blooming Glen, Pa., and Christopher Ziegenfuss and his wife Nancy, of Telford, Pa.; and his former wife and mother of his son, Bonnie (Mills) Rausch, of Holland, Pa.

His funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home, 606 Arch St., Perkasie, Pa., where family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Sellersville Cemetery, Sellersville.
