Religious agendas have no place in public schools

Posted

This is in response to the article ‘Law firm with religious liberties focus reviewing CB library policy’ (Bucks County Herald, Feb. 9). The hiring — or should I say the acceptance of the pro-bono services — of the Independence Law Center seems to be another attempt by the Central Bucks School District to impose political views and religious beliefs on our diverse and vibrant community. One gets the impression that you feel you have a right to do this. In fact, you do not.

America is not and never has been a white Christian country and there has always been gender-fluency in this world. You may adhere to a dogma that says otherwise, but your attempts to impose that dogma on everyone around you will always be met with defiance. The children will not stand for it and I and many others stand with them. I also place implicit trust in the wisdom and expertise of our school librarians.
